Press Release..........
The Missisquoi Amateur Hockey Association (MAHA) is excited to announce that they have entered into an agreement with the Town of Highgate to lease the Highgate Sports Arena. MAHA will create and run multi-age recreational programs year round. MAHA’s goal is to run the facility to its full potential by introducing and building programs during both the ice and non-ice seasons. MAHA hopes to play a big role in the future of the Tri-Town community, serving Highgate, Swanton, Franklin and beyond. MAHA is already built from the tri-town communities and feels that this is a natural extension of the services MAHA has been offering to the youth of the area for over 30 years. "I am very pleased with the agreement we have with the Highgate Selectboard. Moving forward to make this building a tri-town facility is our goal. Also, I would like to thank the MAHA Board members for all of their hard work in this new venture." says MAHA Board President Jim Brace.
Seasonal programming will be designed for community members of all ages and will include Zumba, summer camp, indoor soccer, roller skating, open skating activities, open hockey activities, skating lessons, as well as non-skating on-ice activities such as broomball. MAHA will also support and promote educational programs such as First Aid, CPR, Hunter Safety, etc.
